Rab is well connected to the mainland by road and ferry links. At the southern entrance, ferries on the Stinica – Mišnjak route (Mišnjak is a settlement located 105 km from Rijeka) operate 8 to 20 times per day in both directions throughout the year, and more frequently when needed.

Bus lines connect Rab with Rijeka all year round, and during the summer months also with Zagreb.

For travel to inland Croatia, the historic Josephina Road can also be used. From Senj, it leads over the Vratnik pass, across the Velika and Mala Kapela mountains, through Lika to Karlovac and Zagreb. Senj is about 50 km from Rab, including the combined ferry and road route.
